It is the day after the 2016 elections and I just feel... heavy. My heart and mind are heavy. No matter what side you were on during this election there was just so much hate and ugliness. I have seen sides divided before but never like this. I wishfully thought that this am it was over and we can all start pulling ourselves back together and figuring out how to move on "together" as americans. But instead I woke up to more hate and unkindness, especially from those I didn't expect. On one side I had people gloating and spewing more hatred and on the other a bunch of people emotionally wounded and left feeling unsafe and unsure about their future.
As they say, "what is done is done." No use trying to justify and find logic in what has happened. No use on going back over all the lies and evilness we have seen over the last year. Pondering on all that will just be more sad. We just have to find a way to move on.... and I think this is mine.
I have always loved the quote by Gahndi "You must be the change you want to see in the world" so here is my small way of doing this. Not sure what exactly what I will be writing but I will sharing how I am trying to "Be the Change" and hopefully find ways to encourage others to do the same.
I hope you will join me on this journey!
